What's Next?

First of all, PRAISE GOD! Welcome to the family. The Angels in Heaven rejoice every time someone accepts Jesus!

Luke 15:4-7 says

4“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

So, what does this mean?

It means you just joined the family of God.

If you confessed with your mouth that you are a sinner and asked for God to forgive you. If you know that Jesus is the son of God, that he died for all our sins and rose again three days later.

It means you have received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you and help you. The Holy Spirit can help guide you when you are reading the Bible as well.

Acts 1:4-8

4And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

6So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

What are next steps?

Find a good Bible believing Church.

Ask God for guidance on this. He will guide you to where you need to be. Learn your Bible so you know the Truth.

Start reading your Bible.

Pray before you begin to read. Ask for God's guidance and for Him to reveal what he has for you. Ask for His understanding of the Word.

If you do not have a Bible and can't afford one, ask the church you attend for help to get a Bible in your hands.

Get Baptized.

Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and tells us we should be baptized too. Now this is what saves us. Only Jesus can save us from our sins. We are baptized with His blood. Being baptized with water is our outward expression of our Faith. It allows us to testify about what change has happened in our hearts.

Matthew 28:19

19"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"

Get Yourself Into a Community.

Surrounding yourself into a fellowship of Christians will help your walk with God more than I can even tell you. Accountability and encouragement from those who also love God keeps us on track and blesses us.

1 John 1:7

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
